2021 has seen SDS build a burgeoning video and animation arm, producing digital first videos for a variety of clients off the back of our expert design work. So when we were asked by drinks uber-brand Brewdog to help them produce a series of videos for their Black Friday campaign, we thought about it for all of 0.5 seconds before saying yes please! For those that don’t know them, Brewdog started as a craft brewery in Scotland in 2007 and have since become a global, household name brand with four breweries around the world and beer sold in bars and shops all over the UK. But Brewdog also sell direct to customer on their website. They asked SDS to create a series of videos for their marketing campaigns to help drive B-2-C sales.

Our initial brief was admittedly quite loose, giving us creative freedom to come up with a few concepts that we thought could work for the brand and the event. Having worked up some product-focused concepts from our in-house studio, we worked with their Marketing team to produce a series of videos that would resonate best with their core craft ale consumer.
The SDS team had a lot of fun with this one – the filming, the interplay with the Brewdog team, and of course sampling the products. We received some amazing feedback from the team at Brewdog all the way to the top at CEO level and we are already in talks to extend our partnership into 2022!
